Job Description

Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) – Residential Mental Health Unit
Location: Five Points Correctional Facility, Romulus, NY
Position Summary
The Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) provides therapeutic services to forensic patients within the Residential Mental Health Unit at Five Points Correctional Facility. This position involves individual and group therapy, comprehensive mental health assessments, and documentation in compliance with OMH policies and procedures. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver individual therapy sessions as the primary therapist for assigned patients.
  • Complete mental health assessments and documentation, including:
  • Core History
  • Suicide and Risk Assessments
  • Weekly and Monthly Progress Notes
  • Treatment Plans
  • Discharge Plans
  • Facilitate therapeutic group sessions as part of treatment programming.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with OMH standards.
  • Comply with facility safety and security protocols when interacting with incarcerated individuals.
  • Participate in CNYPC orientation and ongoing training as required.
    Work Schedule
    • Approximately 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday).
    • Exact shift/hours to be determined during the interview.
    • Positions may be renewed for up to two years.
    Requirements
    • Current license and registration as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in New York State.
    • Ability to provide therapeutic services in a correctional setting.
    • Completion of TB testing and proof of recent flu vaccination prior to assignment.
    • Willingness to comply with OMH and facility policies, including orientation requirements.
