Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Finger Lakes Residential Center (FLRC), Ithaca, NY Facility Overview Finger Lakes Residential Center (FLRC) is located seven miles north of Ithaca and serves male juvenile offenders. Youth may remain in OCFS custody until age 21, depending on their sentence. The facility is accredited by the American Correctional Association. Free on-site parking is available. Dress code is business casual or scrubs. Currently, there are no vaccine requirements. Nursing care is provided under supervision staff presence. Position Summary The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive healthcare services to youth in a secure residential setting. This role includes medication administration, health assessments, infection control, and participation in treatment planning as part of a multidisciplinary medical team. Key Responsibilities
Maintain general medical inventory, including controlled substances.
Conduct medication administration in compliance with regulations.
Review and evaluate the overall health conditions of youth.
Prepare, review, and implement nursing intervention plans aligned with treatment plans.
Participate in staff training sessions.
Prepare required clinical and administrative reports.
Maintain infection control standards throughout the facility.
Serve as an active member of the facility’s medical treatment team.
Perform additional duties as assigned and discussed during the interview.
Qualifications
Licensed and registered to practice nursing in New York State.
