Position Summary
Penda Aiken Inc. is a staffing firm located in Brooklyn, New York. Our client is a New York State Agency and is seeking dedicated and adaptable Registered Nurse professionals. These roles focus on providing comprehensive nursing care across a variety of specialized units within the facility. The successful candidates will be responsible for clinical assessments, safe medication administration, and essential intake and out-draft documentation.

This is a fast-paced role requiring high reliability, clinical competence, and the ability to adapt to varying patient needs while maintaining meticulous attention to care protocols.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Provide high-quality, specialized nursing care across multiple units, including the Emergency Clinic, Long Term Care, Unit for the Cognitively Impaired, and the Infirmary.

  • Medication Administration: Safely and accurately administer medications in strict accordance with facility protocols and regulatory standards.

  • Clinical Assessments: Conduct thorough nursing assessments and manage critical patient intake and out-draft processes.

  • Documentation: Maintain precise, timely, and compliant medical records and documentation specific to the facility's requirements.

  • Operational Flexibility: Manage daily tasks and treatments unique to the unit, with the flexibility to work 8-hour shifts that may extend to 12 or 16 hours based on facility needs.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Education & Licensure: Must hold an active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (license must be provided for physical review at the time of interview).

  • Experience: Proven experience working as an RN in a clinical, correctional, or acute care setting preferred.

  • Submission Requirement: A comprehensive professional resume must be provided and reviewed prior to scheduling an interview.

  • Clinical Skills: Strong foundational knowledge of nursing procedures, emergency care protocols, and patient assessment techniques.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary medical teams and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
