Job Title: Registered Nurse - Inpatient Pediatrics Position Type: Short-Term, Temporary (Contract) - 3 Months Location: Syracuse, NY Hours: Days (Every other weekend and some holidays required) Salary: Competitive Hourly Rate based on experience Work Authorization: Applicants must have authorization to work for any U.S. employer without requiring sponsorship. Local Candidates Only - 50 Mile radius to Syracuse, NY Responsibilities:
Provide direct and indirect patient care in a pediatric surgical unit.
Perform majority of patient care functions in an acute care setting with minimal orientation and supervision.
Conduct nursing assessments and document patient responses to treatments.
Take and record vital signs, complete admission documentation, assist with physical exams, collect specimens, monitor intake/output, and transport patients.
Orient new patients to unit regulations and daily routines.
Assist patients with hygiene needs and activities of daily living (ADLs).
Communicate patient data to nursing staff accurately and timely.
Develop therapeutic relationships and intervene during crisis situations.
Maintain a safe environment and apply clinical and psychological interventions appropriate to age and developmental stage.
Participate in unit management activities.
Requirements:
Current New York State RN license.
Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS); must be able to be recertified.
Minimum 1.5 years recent experience in an acute care facility of similar size and level.
2 years of experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center.
EPIC Electronic Medical Records experience highly desired.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Must pass pre-employment health clearance, drug screening, and criminal background check.
Must not have had professional license or certification suspended or investigated.
Must not have been named in a professional liability claim.
