Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Critical Care - Pediatric ICU Position Type: Short-Term, Temporary (3 months) Location: Syracuse, NY Shifts: 12-hour shifts Salary: $68 per hour Work Authorization: Must have authorization to work for any U.S. employer without sponsorship. As a Pediatric ICU RN on the night shift, you’re not just monitoring vitals or managing pain — you’re guiding children through some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives and offering comfort to families in uncertainty.

What You’ll Do:
Monitor pediatric patients recovering from surgery and anesthesia, ensuring safety, comfort, and stability
Recognize early signs of complications like respiratory distress or unstable vitals — and act fast
Administer IV fluids, medications, and post-op interventions with precision
Manage airway support and ventilator weaning for fragile patients
Communicate clearly with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and fellow team members
Guide and reassure parents and guardians — explaining what’s happening, what’s next, and how they can help
Offer emotional support to families navigating fear, stress, and long nights
Participate in rounds, contribute to care plans, and ensure smooth transitions between departments
Follow strict infection control policies and PICU protocols
Document care accurately in EPIC EMR
Respond to emergencies using PALS protocols and assist in code situations when needed
Who You Are:
Licensed RN in New York State
BLS certified (must be able to recertify as needed)
At least 3 years of recent acute care experience, including time in pediatric or critical care settings
Experienced in trauma centers or large hospitals
Familiar with EPIC Electronic Medical Records
Compassionate, quick-thinking, and excellent under pressure
A communicator, a collaborator, and a steady presence in emotional moments
