Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Critical Care DAYS
Position Type: Short-Term, Temporary (3 months)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Hours: 7:00am - 5:30pm
Salary: $68 per hour
Work Authorization: Applicants must have authorization to work for any U.S. employer without requiring sponsorship.


Are you a skilled and experienced Cardiac RN who thrives in high-acuity settings and takes pride in delivering safe, compassionate care? This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where critical thinking, clinical expertise, and teamwork are essential to supporting patients through complex procedures and recovery.

We are seeking a dedicated nurse with strong experience in procedural preparation and recovery, as well as the ability to monitor and respond to patients under moderate sedation. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, attentive to detail, and deeply committed to patient safety and positive outcomes.

Job Duties:
  • Deliver skilled, patient-centered care in an acute care setting with minimal supervision
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and respond appropriately to changing conditions
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, especially when under sedation
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely and effective care delivery
  • Support patient education, care planning, and safe discharge or recovery transitions

Qualifications:
  • Active New York State Registered Nurse license
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a Cardiac or ICU-level care environment
  • At least 1.5 years of recent (within the past 2 years) experience in an acute care facility of similar size and complexity
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), with willingness to renew as needed
  • Experience with moderate sedation medications and continuous patient monitoring
  • Skilled in patient preparation and recovery for procedures, including airway monitoring
  • Previous use of EPIC electronic medical records preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Must not have any history of suspended or investigated professional licenses or certifications
  • Must not have been named as a defendant in any professional liability claims
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must pass pre-employment health screening, drug testing, and criminal background check

Travel RNs will only be considered if their previous experience includes working in facilities of equal or greater size, or in trauma centers.

Required or Preferred Certifications and Experience (as applicable to specialty):
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
  • Telemetry experience
  • Triage experience
  • Ambulatory or Primary Care experience
  • Medical coding or insurance review knowledge
