Location: Malone, NY

Type: Full-Time / Contract

Position Summary

Penda Aiken Inc. is a staffing firm located in Brooklyn, New York. Our client is a regional facility and is seeking an autonomous Physician Assistant professional to join their clinical team in Malone, NY. This role focuses on providing comprehensive primary, acute, and emergency care to individuals within the facility, managing chronic medical conditions, and supervising infirmary care.

This is a fast-paced role requiring high reliability, exceptional clinical judgment, and strong cross-agency coordination.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Clinical Care & Decisions: Diagnose, treat, and manage chronic or acute conditions; handle medication prescribing and treatment plans.

  • Diagnostics & Imaging: Order and interpret labs, diagnostic imaging, x-rays, and EKGs; provide clinical guidance over infirmary care.

  • Emergency Response: Deliver immediate emergency stabilization care for acute injuries (e.g., splinting, stabilizing) and monitor hunger strikes.

  • Specialized Care: Coordinate OUD MAT prescribing pathways and evaluate individuals following hospitalization for follow-up care.

  • Referrals & Compliance: Manage facility accommodation requests, refer patients to outside facilities for specialized care, and monitor treatment plans in accordance with infectious disease policies.

  • Care Coordination: Closely coordinate patient care with internal and external partner health agencies for concomitant care.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program.

  • License: Active, unencumbered New York State Physician Assistant license and registration.

  • Certifications: Current DEA registration for prescribing capabilities (MAT/OUD compliance preferred).
