Job Description

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP)
  Position Summary The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP) is responsible for providing advanced psychiatric care to patients across the lifespan in a variety of clinical settings. This role involves assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to support mental health and wellness. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments for patients presenting with a range of psychiatric disorders.
  • Diagnose mental health conditions and develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring efficacy and safety, and adjusting treatment as necessary.
  • Provide psychotherapy, psychoeducation, and counseling to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care.
  • Document all patient interactions, assessments, treatments, and progress in electronic health records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and continuing education programs.
  • Advocate for patient needs and facilitate access to community resources and support services.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies and protocols.
