Job Description

Job Title: Nurse Practitioner (Family or Adult NP)
Position Type: Part-Time, Temporary (Up to 2 Years)
Location: Bronx, NY 
Hours: Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM (20 hours/week)
Salary: Based on Experience

Job Description:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide direct healthcare services and clinical leadership within a well-established and student-centered campus health program. As part of the Wellness and Inclusion Group in the Division of Student Affairs, the NP will support the medical health and wellness needs of a diverse student population of over 15,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.
Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
  • Provide direct clinical care and perform physical exams, gynecological exams, and vision testing.
  • Administer immunizations and conduct tuberculosis screenings in compliance with NYS Department of Health requirements.
  • Dispense non-prescription medications and provide health education during student visits.
  • Formulate, implement, and evaluate care plans based on assessments of physical, psychological, and environmental needs.
  • Facilitate referrals to external specialists and collaborative care providers.
  • Support continuity of care and integrated models of health and wellness.

Operations and Compliance:
  • Track and implement updated public health guidelines in coordination with CUNY and campus stakeholders.
  • Oversee clinical operations and ensure compliance with NYS medical standards and university policies.
  • Maintain licensure and regulatory documentation including CLIA-waived certification, DEA registration, and immunization registry access.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of medical equipment and adherence to infection control standards.
  • Maintain documentation for per diem staff including malpractice insurance, BLS certification, and licensure.
Qualifications:
  • Certification and current registration as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult Nurse Practitioner by the New York State Education Department.
  • Active, current NYS license and national board certification.
  • BLS and AED certifications.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of clinical experience with young adults, preferably in college health or a related specialty.
  • Experience in administrative management within an ambulatory care setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to integrated health and wellness services and student-centered care.
  • Knowledge of public health issues, college health trends, and compliance standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as both a team leader and team member.
