Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Location: Collins, NY Employment Type: Full-Time Contract Shifts: 2nd and 3rd shifts (Evenings and Nights) Position Overview: Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are licensed health care practitioners who provide direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, physician, or other licensed health care provider, in accordance with Article 139 of the New York State Education Law. This role involves delivering high-quality patient care in a correctional or clinical setting, ensuring safety and compliance with established standards. Emergency Room (ER) experience is preferred. Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Perform nursing care tasks and procedures consistent with individual treatment plans.
Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for adverse reactions.
Observe and report patients’ responses to treatment and changes in health status.
Assist with activities of daily living and hygiene tasks.
Provide health teaching and education to patients.
Obtain and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
Maintain accurate documentation and comply with facility protocols.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current New York State LPN license in good standing.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an acute care hospital setting; ER experience preferred.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Must pass employment physical exam.
CPR certification required; ACLS preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in correctional or high-acuity environments.
Ability to adapt to fast-paced and challenging situations.
Proficiency in documenting care and using electronic health records.
