Job Description

Legal Billing Coordinator Opportunity:

The Legal Billing Coordinator will be responsible for managing the firm’s billing process, including preparation, review, and submission of client invoices. This position requires excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and staff.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Generate and distribute monthly prebills to attorneys for review.
  • Prepare, edit, and finalize client invoices in accordance with client-specific billing guidelines.
  • Apply special billing rates, retainers, and discounts accurately.
  • Process write-offs, adjustments, and other billing-related corrections.
  • Submit invoices through multiple electronic billing (e-billing) platforms, including preparation of LEDES files.
  • Monitor and follow up on invoice approvals and address rejections or discrepancies promptly.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, clients, and accounting personnel to resolve billing issues.
  • Maintain accurate billing records and documentation.
 

 

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of legal billing experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • High computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong knowledge of electronic billing systems such as Legal Tracker, CounselLink, Legal Exchange, Tymetrix 360, Legal Solutions Suite, Bottomline Legal-X, and Resolvestar (strongly preferred).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with attorneys and staff.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
 

 

Compensation and Benefits:

$65,000-$75,000 “Commensurate with experience”
