Job Title: Temporary Accounting Support Specialist
Location: Brooklyn, NY

Type: Full-Time / Contract / Temporary (August 17, 2026 – March 31, 2027)
Position Summary
Penda Aiken Inc. is a staffing firm located in Brooklyn, New York. Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Accounting Support Specialist to join the Office of the Comptroller. This role focuses on supporting critical day-to-day accounting functions to maintain operational continuity during system implementation activities and staffing resource constraints. The successful candidate will be responsible for reconciling investment activity, assisting with account analysis, and supporting audit preparation and documentation requests.

This is a fast-paced role requiring high reliability, punctuality, and the ability to meet strict deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Investment Reconciliation: Record investment transactions into investment software and reconcile to custodian/manager statements.

  • General Ledger Postings: Prepare journal entries for posting to the general ledger module for monthly and quarterly activity.

  • Financial Reporting: Assist with the preparation of financial statements and Excel schedules related to foundation investments.

  • Process Maintenance: Maintain transaction templates to facilitate smooth year-end uploads.

  • Intercompany Reconciliations: Assist with quarterly reconciliations across entities.

  • Data Management: Maintain and update Excel spreadsheets for the accounting office across all entities.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field with demonstrated experience in general ledger accounting and account reconciliations.

  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with specialized accounting and investment tracking software.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities with experience supporting financial audit preparations and inter-entity reporting.
Job Title: Temporary Property Management Support Specialist
Location: New York, NY

Type: Full-Time / Contract / Temporary (August 17, 2026 – April 30, 2027)
Position Summary
Penda Aiken Inc. is a staffing firm located in Brooklyn, New York. Our client is seeking a methodical Temporary Property Management Support Specialist to support Internal Audit and Property Management initiatives. This role focuses on significant data cleanup activities in direct preparation for a Workday Asset Management system implementation. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complete physical and digital asset inventory audits, record verification, and data standardization.

This is a fast-paced role requiring high reliability, punctuality, and the ability to meet strict deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Asset Tracking & Verification: Review and update offsite status and physical locations for all assigned assets.

  • Financial Data Validation: Determine the accuracy and validity of zero-cost assets across system databases.

  • Profile Standardization: Review and update asset categories and profile IDs to align with implementation standards.

  • Inventory Cleanup: Identify, review, and properly update all untagged assets across systems.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: Experience in asset management, inventory auditing, property management, or administrative internal audit support.

  • System Familiarity: Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Asset Management systems (experience with Workday Asset Management is a strong plus).

  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in data entry, Microsoft Excel, and inventory tracking tools.
