Title: Technical and Program Oversight Executive Position Type: Long-Term, Temporary (1+ years) Location: New York, NY Hours: TBD Salary: $75 per hour
Our client, NYC's largest transportation agency, is seeking to hire a Technical and Program Oversight Executive for its modernization program. You will provide technical leadership, strategic planning, safety certification, and contract management.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
Provide visionary leadership in managing and overseeing technical programs and projects across the NYCT.
Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance program delivery and operational efficiency.
Serve as a subject matter expert, offering guidance on engineering, technical, and programmatic challenges.
Program Oversight
Oversee the planning, design, and execution of infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Monitor program performance metrics and implement corrective actions to address risks and challenges.
Conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and community groups.
Facilitate effective communication between engineering teams, project managers, and executive leadership.
Represent NYCT in meetings, public hearings, and industry events.
Technical Excellence
Drive innovation by implementing best practices, emerging technologies, and sustainable solutions in transit infrastructure projects.
Conduct technical reviews to ensure engineering designs and plans meet organizational and industry standards.
Stay abreast of advancements in transit systems, urban infrastructure, and transportation technologies.
Communication Based Train Control experience
Budget & Resource Management
Oversee the development and management of project budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Collaborate with financial teams to secure funding and manage expenditures.
Ensure procurement processes align with NYCT policies and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Transportation Planning, or a related field, or;
Minimum of 5Â years of progressive leadership experience in infrastructure project management, transit systems, or a related technical field.
Proven track record of delivering large-scale projects in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
Expertise in engineering principles, project management methodologies, and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project).
Familiarity with sustainability practices and innovative transit technologies.
Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to engage diverse audiences.
