We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse. This role provides a unique opportunity to make a difference by delivering quality care to individuals in a secure correctional environment. Nurses in this role are a lifeline—providing critical medical oversight, medication management, and compassionate support to patients navigating challenging circumstances.
What You’ll Do
Receive and review patient updates during verbal shift report.
Process physician orders by entering them into CNET, printing and verifying updated MARs with a second RN.
Administer medications to patients across various units, including RCTP, long-term care, infirmary, SHU/RRU, reception, and general population.
Accurately document medications given or refused.
Maintain medication stock accountability and ensure proper documentation.
Conduct control and tool counts with another nurse to ensure compliance and safety.
Assess patients as needed, admit to RCTP when appropriate, and complete admission documentation.
Document nursing progress notes and maintain accurate medical records.
What We’re Looking For
Current and valid NYS Registered Nurse license and registration.
Proof of recent TB testing and flu vaccination (required upon hire).
Strong assessment, documentation, and organizational skills.
Professionalism, adaptability, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
