Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Location: Marcy NY Service Date: 1/1/25 to 12/31/26. Salary: $50 - $55
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team within a maximum security correctional facility. This role, involves medication administration and management.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive a verbal report from the nurse who worked the satellite unit upon arrival.
Process MD orders by inputting them into CNET, printing updated MARs, and verifying new MARs with a second RN.
Administer medications to patients in various units, including RCTP OB, RCTP Dorm, Long Term Care, Infirmary Therapeutic Behavioral Unit (TBU), and General Population (GP).
Document medications given and refused.
Perform control and tool counts with a second nurse.
Maintain stock medication accountability by counting stock medications and documenting on the appropriate form.
Assess patients brought to the satellite unit and admit to RCTP if needed, documenting the RCTP admission form.
Document RCTP nursing progress notes.
Qualifications:
Current Registered Nurse license and registration.
Proof of TB testing and recent flu shot.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably within a correctional facility or psychiatric center.
Hours:
Varies to accommodate the needs of the unit.
May include every other weekend and holidays to ensure proper staff coverage.
