Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Position Type: Long-term, Temporary (1+ years) Location: Beacon, New York Hours: Days, Evenings, and overnights Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. As a Registered Nurse in a secure mental health unit within a correctional facility, you’ll do more than just administer medication—you’ll bring humanity, structure, and healing to a place that needs it most. What You’ll Do:
Receive detailed handoff reports from the nurse coming off shift
Process physician orders: enter into CNET, print and verify updated MARs with a second RN
Administer medications across several units: RCTP OB, RCTP Dorm, Long-Term Care, Infirmary, SHU/RRU, Reception, and General Population
Document medication administration and refusals accurately and clearly
Conduct control/tool counts with a second RN, maintaining safety protocols
Monitor stock medications and ensure proper documentation of inventory
Assess patients who arrive at the mental health satellite unit
Admit patients into RCTP when needed, completing all required forms
Document ongoing nursing assessments and RCTP progress notes
What You’ll Need to Start:
Active Registered Nurse license in New York State
Current registration and eligibility to work
Proof of recent TB testing and influenza vaccination
Willingness to complete comprehensive orientation sessions
