Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Critical Care Endoscopy DAYS Position Type: Short-Term, Temporary (3 months) Location: Syracuse, NY Shifts: 40 hours per week Salary: $68 per hour Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and patient monitoring during endoscopic procedures.
Administer medications, sedation, and IV therapies as ordered.
Assist physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, etc.).
Monitor patients in post-procedure recovery, ensuring stable vitals and managing complications.
Document care accurately in EPIC Electronic Medical Records
Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
Provide patient and family education on procedures and post-care.
Respond to emergency situations with critical thinking and ACLS protocols (if certified).
Requirements:
Licensure: Current New York State RN license in good standing (no suspensions/investigations).
Certifications: BLS (required, must maintain certification). ACLS preferred.
Minimum 1.5 years recent acute care experience (within last 2 years) in a hospital of similar size/level.
Endoscopy, ICU, PACU, or procedural nursing experience strongly preferred.
Travelers considered only with experience in equal/larger hospitals or trauma centers.
Proficient in acute care nursing assessments with minimal supervision.
Strong EPIC EMR familiarity (preferred).
Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
