In this role, you’ll work with critically ill neurological patients, providing life-saving interventions and offering comfort to families during their hardest moments.

If you are a nurse who believes in both the science and humanity of care, this opportunity is for you.

What You'll Do:
  • Provide comprehensive, hands-on care through assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized care plans
  • Monitor and manage critically ill neurological patients, including those requiring ventilatory support and intracranial pressure monitoring
  • Respond swiftly to neurological changes or emergencies, using your expertise to protect and save lives
  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital policies
  • Collaborate with neurosurgeons, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and recovery paths, offering both knowledge and emotional support
  • Conduct frequent neurological assessments and manage patients with EVDs, lumbar drains, and ICP monitoring devices
  • Assist with advanced procedures such as intubation, extubation, and emergency interventions like bedside tracheostomies and central line insertions
  • Support patients and families emotionally during moments of crisis, bringing both skill and compassion
  • Ensure accurate shift handoffs using SBAR methodology and maintain thorough documentation

What You Bring:
  • Current New York State RN license
  • BLS certification (with ability to renew)
  • 1.5 years of recent acute care experience in a facility of similar size and acuity
  • At least 1 year of experience in Neuro ICU
  • Strong experience with trauma, critical care, and complex neurological conditions
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work every other weekend and some holidays

Why This Role Matters:
Critical Care nursing isn’t just about interventions—it’s about being a lifeline in moments of fear and uncertainty. Here, you’ll work with a team that respects your skill and values your voice, while your care directly impacts patients and their families in profound ways.
