The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide nursing interventions and medication administration consistent with a systematic problem-solving approach for delivering comprehensive nursing care. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards in a juvenile correctional setting.
Facility Overview:
The facility is located 16 miles south of Rochester, New York, and includes both secure and limited secure settings. The center serves male, adjudicated juvenile delinquents placed by Family Court, with youth potentially remaining in custody until age 21. Accredited by the American Correctional Association, the center currently houses approximately 44 youth. Free parking is available on-site, and the dress code is business casual or scrubs. There are no current vaccine requirements. Supervision staff will be present when providing nursing care to youth.
Job Duties:
Maintain general medical inventory, including controlled substances.
Conduct medication administration.
Review the overall health conditions of youth, including preparing, reviewing, and evaluating nursing intervention plans.
Ensure interventions are consistent with comprehensive treatment plans.
Participate in staff trainings.
Prepare required clinical and administrative reports.
Maintain infection control standards.
Serve as a member of the facility’s medical treatment team.

Qualifications:
Licensed and registered to practice nursing in New York State.
