We’re looking for a skilled and motivated paralegal to support our legal team in the closing of affordable housing loans. In this role, your expertise will be essential to ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and a smooth path to homeownership for those who need it most. This is a rewarding opportunity to put your real estate experience to work in a purpose-driven environment. What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Assist attorneys with all aspects of individual homebuyer closings, including reviewing loan documents, title reports, subordination agreements, and more
  • Ensure documents meet compliance standards and are properly completed
  • Help identify and resolve any legal issues that arise before or during the closing process
  • Prepare correspondence, closing transcripts, and research memos
  • Attend mortgage closings and provide in-person legal support to attorneys
  • Help manage legal matters related to loan servicing and mortgage enforcement
  • Collaborate with a dedicated legal team to keep things organized and moving forward
What You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal Certificate preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant experience, particularly in real estate law, closings, and document preparation
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks
  • Proficiency with ACRIS, Lexis Advance, Westlaw, Accurint, and document systems like Image Silo
  • Clear, confident communicator who can write and speak professionally
  • A self-starter who’s comfortable working independently but thrives on being part of a collaborative team
  • High attention to detail and strong follow-through
  • Licensed Notary Public in New York State
  • Tech-savvy with solid MS Office skills
Why This Role Matters: You’re not just managing paperwork—you’re helping individuals and families take a major step forward in life. Every document you review, every transaction you support, plays a part in delivering access to safe, affordable housing. If you care about meaningful work and want to be part of something bigger, we’d love to hear from you.
