Title: Manager for Planning and Organization

Our client, NYC's largest transportation agency, is seeking to hire a Manager for Planning and Organization for its modernization program.

Responsibilities:

  • CBTC Project Planning:
    • Develop comprehensive project plans for CBTC implementation, detailing timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and deliverables.
    • Ensure project plans align with the agency's strategic goals and adhere to regulatory and safety standards.

  • Integration & Coordination:
    • Integrate CBTC project plans with broader organizational initiatives and operational schedules.
    • Facilitate coordination across departments, ensuring all aspects of CBTC projects are seamlessly incorporated into the overall transit system.

  • Efficient Project Planning:
    • Implement best practices in project planning to ensure efficient use of resources, time, and budget.
    • Identify and address potential planning bottlenecks or inefficiencies proactively.

  • Performance Oversight:
    • Monitor project performance against established benchmarks and key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Generate regular performance reports, highlighting progress, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.

  • Stakeholder Relationship Management:
    • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, external contractors, regulatory bodies, and community stakeholders.
    • Act as a liaison to ensure clear communication, resolve conflicts, and build consensus on project objectives and deliverables.

Responsibilities:
  • Master’s degree in Public Administration or a related field, or;
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in project management, transit systems, or a related technical field.
  • Knowledge of project management frameworks and tools (e.g., Agile, PMP, or Lean methodologies).
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale projects in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to engage diverse audiences.
