Job Description

Job Title: Human Resources Coordinator
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm, or 9:00am-5:30pm
Salary: $57,500-$65,000 depending on experience

Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized professional to support our Human Resources operations, with a focus on onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and benefits administration. This role plays a key part in ensuring a seamless experience for new hires and ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Onboarding & Pre-Employment:
  • Initiate and manage the onboarding process for all new hires, including employment eligibility verification (I-9), applicant intake, and the collection of required documentation.
  • Coordinate all pre-employment requirements, including background checks, reference checks, and verification of licenses, degrees, and credentials.
  • Ensure proper system entry and documentation in applicant tracking systems (Bullhorn).
Benefits Administration:
  • Support the administration of employee benefits by distributing enrollment information, assisting with benefits selection, and entering employee data into healthcare portals.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee benefits-related questions.
Employee Relations & Engagement:
  • Address inquiries and concerns from current and prospective employees regarding employment policies, compensation, and engagement.
  • Act as a liaison between Human Resources, employees, and clients to ensure clear communication and resolution of HR-related matters.
HR Operations:
  • Oversee HR processes for both permanent and temporary staff, including onboarding, orientation, and offboarding procedures.
  • Maintain and update employee information in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and assist with new system data migration and training.
  • Prepare and analyze data for internal use and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
HR Compliance:
  • Ensure all HR processes comply with federal, state, and local employment laws, including recordkeeping, confidentiality, and documentation requirements.
  • Assist with audits and implement process improvements to enhance compliance and reduce risk.
  • Prepare and submit compliance-related reports, including quarterly government filings and workforce analytics.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred; or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience supporting an HR department REQUIRED.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Teams, and ATS tracking software.
  • Must be organized, flexible, and able to multi-task in a fast- paced environment.
  • Ability to deal with and handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and tact.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication skills and motivation skills are required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and building relationships inside and outside the organization.
  • Benefits administration and compliance are required.
  • Staffing agency experience a plus
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
