Job Description

Title: Data Entry Clerk
Position Type: Long-term, temporary (1+ years)
Location: New York, NY
Hours: M-F, Full-Time
Salary: $18-20 per hour
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Data Entry Clerk to support the processing of Mortgage Loan Originator license applications. The ideal candidate will have strong clerical skills, experience with Microsoft Excel, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the review and processing of Mortgage Loan Originator license applications.

  • Enter application data and update status changes in the internal LINX database.

  • Upload application-related documents into internal systems.

  • Draft and prepare communications requesting additional documentation or notifying applicants of deficiencies.

  • Review criminal background checks and verify compliance with testing, education, sponsorship, work location, and surety bond requirements.

  • Prepare comprehensive checklists to ensure each applicant meets all licensing requirements, statutory prohibitions, and eligibility criteria.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in clerical support or administrative work.

  • At least one (1) year of hands-on experience with intermediate Microsoft Excel functions, including pivot tables, mail merge, and spreadsheet comparison formulas.

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage varied tasks effectively in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
