Job Description


Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Position Type: Long-term, temporary (1+ years)
Location: Batavia, NY
Hours: Day, Evening, and Overnight shifts
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant in New York State, your work is more than a list of tasks. It is about showing compassion, dignity, and respect to every patient you meet. You will be the helping hands and caring presence that make a real difference in someone’s day.


What You Will Do
Working under direct clinical supervision, you will:
  • Provide basic medical care such as changing dressings, giving enemas, douches, and irrigations as directed
  • Apply medical aids such as binders, heating pads, ice packs, and compresses
  • Assist patients with collecting specimens for testing
  • Monitor and record food, fluid intake, and waste output
  • Measure vital signs including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration rate
  • Give therapeutic baths including sitz and fever sponge baths
  • Measure and record height and weight
  • Check oxygen therapy equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly
  • Recognize and report signs and symptoms of illness to clinical staff
  • Apply splints, braces, slings, and other supportive devices
  • Operate patient monitoring and treatment equipment as needed
  • Assist patients with hygiene and daily living needs such as bathing, dressing, oral care, and grooming
  • Handle laundry and personal belongings respectfully and securely
  • Help patients with eating, mobility, and positioning for comfort and treatment
  • Support incontinent patients with dignity and care
  • Talk and listen to patients, offering encouragement and emotional support
  • Occasionally transport patients or supplies
  • Maintain clean, sanitary, and well-supplied treatment areas

Qualifications
  • Current New York State Certified Nursing Assistant certification
  • A passion for helping others and providing respectful, compassionate care
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a clinical team and follow directions accurately
  • Physical ability to assist patients safely and effectively
